James Beard
James Beard has devoted his entire legal career to protecting the rights
of the injured, particularly in the maritime industry. Prior to graduating
from the University of Puget Sound School of Law, Mr. Beard worked as a
commercial fisherman and oysterman. A renowned advocate for families following
the sinking of vessels, Mr. Beard is a frequently asked to serve as mediator
to resolve maritime disputes.
Joseph Stacey
Joseph Stacey received his law degree in 1982 from Seattle University and
has extensive experience in the maritime litigation arena. Mr. Stacey has
been a frequent lecturer at various bar seminars and industry presentations
and has served as a successful mediator and arbitrator of multiple disputes.
He is licensed to practice in Washington, Alaska and Oregon.
Lanning Trueb
Lanning Trueb received his law degree with High Honors
from the University of Montana and has since successfully handled numerous
maritime and aviation cases in all corners of Alaska. Mr. Trueb has extensive
personal experience in the arena, as he previously fished his own vessel
and managed his family's salmon fishing business. Mr. Trueb is a tireless
advocate for injured people and their families, and is licensed to practice
in Alaska and Washington.
James Jacobsen
James Jacobsen developed extensive firsthand experience in maritime matters
by serving as a merchant seaman and Alaska fisherman from 1979
to 1984 and working as a deckhand and mate in the Gulf of Alaska, Bering
Sea, Southeast Alaska and Puget Sound. Mr. Jacobsen is licensed by the
U.S. Coast Guard and is a former member of the Inland-boatmen's Union
of the Pacific and the Alaska Fishermen's Union. After graduating from
the University of Oregon School of Law in 1986, he worked as an Admiralty
Trial Attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington D.C. Mr.
Jacobsen is licensed to practice in Washington and Alaska.
